Job Description
The Dallas YMCA is currently seeking a Preschool Director at our Plano YMCA. Job Description Join a mission-driven organization dedicated to nurturing children, strengthening families, and building healthier communities. The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas includes 16 branches and 1 destination camp committed to delivering high-quality, values-based programming. The Y is seeking a Preschool Director to lead and grow the Plano Preschool Program (ages 2-5 years old). Position Overview Based at the Plano Family YMCA, this role provides leadership oversight and accountability for our YMCA Plano Preschool. Key Responsibilities Preschool Leadership Oversee all daily preschool operations—including classroom routines, attendance, staff scheduling, supply management, meal service, facility readiness, and safety checks—to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery aligned with licensing expectations and association goals. Lead all aspects of staff management, including recruiting, hiring, training, supervision, and performance evaluation, while cultivating a positive, high-performing team culture. Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to elevate instructional practices, safety awareness, and service excellence. Support enrollment growth through intentional recruitment efforts, strengthened family engagement, and proactive relationship-building with current and prospective stakeholders. Implement and ensure fidelity to the developmentally appropriate Leap Frog curriculum, monitoring classroom practices for instructional quality and alignment with early childhood best practices. Maintain full compliance with Texas Child Care Licensing regulations and YMCA policies through continuous monitoring, accurate documentation, and strict adherence to health, safety, and ratio requirements. Communicate consistently with families through newsletters, daily updates, conferences, and direct communication to maintain transparency, build trust, and support strong family partnerships. Manage preschool budgets and fiscal processes in collaboration with Resource Operations Center Teams and leadership partners, ensuring responsible revenue tracking, expense monitoring, and efficient resource utilization. Collaborate with YMCA preschool programs across the association to align operational practices, share resources, and support collective program excellence. Support broader YMCA branch initiatives, including board meetings, marketing events, community outreach efforts, and the Annual Campaign.

Mileage reimbursed in accordance to Association Policy.Standard Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break and a few annually scheduled events over the weekend to support operations Qualifications Demonstrated commitment to the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field preferred. Minimum of two years of experience in education or childcare, including supervisory or team leadership responsibilities. Demonstrated experience in curriculum implementation, budgeting, and program development preferred. Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective staff teams and positive community relationships. Skilled in partnering with families, school personnel, and community organizations to support program success. Must meet and maintain all required certifications and trainings in accordance with YMCA and state standards. Must meet Director Qualifications (per Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards). Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged; proficiency in multiple languages is considered a valuable asset.Essential Functions Benefits:
