Director of Child and Family Therapy Position Status:
Salary, Exempt Momentous Institute has been dedicated to strengthening the mental health of children, families, and communities for over a century. Each year, our organization supports individuals through innovative mental health services, our nationally recognized Momentous School , and professional training for educators, doctoral students, and professionals who work with children. Our team of over 30 licensed psychologists, licensed professional counselors, licensed clinical social workers, licensed marriage and family therapists, paraprofessionals, clinical trainees, and specialized support staff are committed to providing systemic, trauma-informed mental health services integrating brain and strengths-based perspectives. This role provides clinical supervision, leadership, and administrative oversight to support the delivery of high-quality mental health services, with a focus on early childhood interventions and Launch Program support at both the Constantin Center and Momentous School. The position supervises staff, supports stewardship and professional goals, ensures compliance with documentation and consent procedures, and provides clinical guidance, crisis coverage, and consultation as needed. The role also carries a small caseload, supports training and supervision for staff, trainees, and community partners, and promotes clinical excellence, innovation, and effective use of program tools and research methods.Professional Responsibilities :
- Provide administrative supervision for staff focused on early childhood interventions. This includes supporting achievement of stewardship goals, progress towards professional goals, requests for PTO, etc.
- Provide oversight of record keeping procedures (including consent forms) to ensure compliance with state, federal and licensing regulations.
- Support clinical needs of the Launch Programs at both locations. This role will also participate in weekly Launch programming at Momentous School to provide both interventions with clients as well as clinical guidance for the team. This will also involve consultation with education staff (e.g., teachers, Deans, Principal)
- Ensure playrooms have needed and updated supplies for effective treatment.
- Lead/participate in training offered to trainees, staff, community partners and mental health professionals. This includes clinical supervision to trainees participating in Momentous Institute training programs as well as support of the monthly Play Therapy Consultation group.
- Provide clinical coverage as needed to manage crisis and risks, support clinical team, and provide leadership evening coverage for staff and trainees.
- The role will also carry a small caseload (35% stewardship goal).
- Foster an environment within the Mental Health Services Team that builds excitement to use fresh and new ideas in daily work with clients, colleagues, and community partners.
- Support projects and initiatives including the support and use of the Outcome Questionnaire (OQ) and other relevant research methods with all eligible clients.
Professional Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Master's degree in behavioral sciences from an accredited university with a Texas license to practice therapy. Supervisory experience required. If applicable, prefer that license has the supervisor designation (e.g., LPC-S, LCSW-S)
- Extensive training and experience with interventions for young children such as play therapy or Theraplay.
- Able to work with clients/colleagues of diverse backgrounds.
- Leadership/management experience leading mental health providers.
- Willing to work flexible hours to accommodate evening appointments/responsibilities.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish is preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 15 pounds in all directions
- Occasionally assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
