Job Summary The Assistant Director is a proactive leader responsible for supporting the Director in the daily operations of the center. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with Texas licensing and Texas Rising Star standards while maintaining a nurturing environment. We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in financial management and exceptional communication skills to help our center thrive as a pillar of the downtown community.
Managing the center's budget along with the Director, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring cost-effective operations.
Fiscal Operations:
Handle invoicing, fee collections, payroll facilitation, and ensuring timely payments from families.
Revenue Support:
Fundraise, apply for grant, and plan events to support center initiatives along with the Director.
Compliance & Records:
Ensure all required paperwork for children, staff, and licensing is organized and maintained quarterly.
Communication & Community Relations Parent Engagement:
Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents; address concerns and provide updates through newsletters and collaborative meetings.
Public Relations:
Act as a primary point of contact for visitors, lead tours for prospective families, and manage recruitment efforts.
Professionalism:
Maintain an open line of communication with the Church board and the Director.
Staff Supervision & Development Team Leadership:
Supervise teaching staff and classroom aides, ensuring adherence to MSCDC policies and Texas Rising Star standards.
Staff Growth:
Implement training programs and ensure staff maintain current certifications in CPR, first aid, and child development.
Classroom Support:
Monitor staff-to-child ratios and observe classroom management and curriculum implementation.
Health, Safety, & Operations Safety Protocols:
Monitor adherence to safety protocols, including fire drills and emergency procedures.
Acting Authority:
Serve as acting director when required, providing signature authority and overseeing all program activities.
Qualifications Required:
Communication:
Proven excellence in verbal and written communication.
Financial Literacy:
Demonstrated experience in budgeting, collections, or general financial administration.
Leadership:
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to problem-solve independently.
Credentials:
AAS (Associates in Applied Science in a related field) preferred or CDA (Child Development Associate)
Technical:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and childcare management software. minimum three years of relevant work experience in a Texas Rising Star Center.
Preferred:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Education Administration. 2+ years of experience in an Early Childhood Setting. Knowledge of Texas Licensing regulations and Texas Rising Star standards. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, stoop, and sit on the floor to interact with children. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience. Benefits package including Paid Time Off (PTO). $41,604.00 - $52,000.00 per year
