Weekday School Director Summary:
The director plays a critical role in balancing the day to day business concerns of the Weekday School with the physical and emotional well-being of its staff and students With enthusiasm for the care and growth of our students as a focus, the director will manage a team of early childhood professionals, promote a positive image of the school within the community, and foster positive working relationships with families and staff through leadership.
Qualifications:
  • at least 21 years of age
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree with 12 college credit hours in child development & 6 hours in management and at least one year of experience in a licensed childcare center OR Associates of Applied Science in child development with 6 college credit hours in child development (or closely related field), 6 hours in management AND at least 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare center
  • Strong communication & organizational skills
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of and experience with ProCare Software or similar management software
  • Administrative experience supervising staff is preferred
Responsibilities:
  • Uphold the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services Minimum Standards to ensure compliance with regulations (ratio compliance, inspections, education requirements, required safety protocol and procedures)
  • Schedule staff to ensure proper staff to child ratios
  • Hire, train and supervise/manage all employees
  • Foster a team-oriented culture of collaboration that supports all staff members
  • Maintain the daily functions of the school including (but not limited to) the management of school financial duties, purchasing supplies, and preparing a biweekly payroll for the staff
  • Professionally and effectively communicate with all stakeholders
  • Manages Social Media activity
  • Attend monthly FUMC school board meetings
  • Attend weekly FUMC Weekday church staff meetings
