Job Description

Position Overview Herndon Montessori School is seeking a motivated and organized Director or Assistant Director to help lead our growing school community. We welcome applicants with leadership, management, education, customer service, operations, or administrative experience, including those who may not have direct experience as a childcare director but are eager to learn and grow in the field of early childhood education. Key Responsibilities Support the daily operations of the school. Support and inspire teachers and staff in maintaining a positive, child-centered learning environment. Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff. Assist with staff hiring, training, scheduling, and performance support. Ensure compliance with licensing, health, and safety requirements. Support enrollment, parent communication, and school tours. Help maintain high standards for curriculum, classroom environments, and student experiences. Participate in school events, community outreach, and marketing efforts. Qualifications Required Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Experience in management, supervision, education, customer service or a related field. Ability to work collaboratively and solve problems effectively. Ability to lead with professionalism, empathy, and integrity. Passion for working in a child-centered educational environment. Committed to providing exceptional service to children, families, and staff. Preferred but Not Required Bachelor's degree in education, Business, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field. Experience in early childhood education or working with children and families. Knowledge of Virginia Childcare licensing requirements. Previous supervisory or management experience. Pay:
$20.00 - $28.00 per hour
