This is not a maintenance role. This is an opportunity for a leader who thrives in startup, turnaround, and growth-stage environments and understands what it takes to build enrollment, support families, and help a childcare program reach its full potential. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, understands Virginia childcare regulations, and has a proven track record of increasing enrollment, building community partnerships, and driving program growth. Primary ResponsibilitiesEnrollment Growth & Family Engagement Drive enrollment growth through tours, family consultations, follow-up communications, and relationship-building. Convert inquiries, waitlist families, and prospective leads into enrolled families. Maintain consistent communication with prospective families throughout the enrollment process. Develop and implement family retention strategies. Build strong relationships with current and prospective families. Monitor enrollment trends and identify opportunities to increase occupancy. Marketing & Community Outreach Develop and execute enrollment-focused marketing initiatives. Build partnerships with local schools, churches, employers, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, and community groups. Represent the program at community events, networking opportunities, and outreach activities. Support social media, referral, grassroots, and community marketing efforts. Assist with open houses, family engagement events, and enrollment campaigns. Identify innovative ways to increase visibility and brand awareness within the community. Operations & Leadership Support the daily operation of a licensed childcare program. Ensure compliance with Virginia licensing regulations and program policies. Assist with staff scheduling, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance support. Monitor classroom quality, ratios, supervision, and safety practices. Maintain required records, documentation, and compliance files. Support continuous quality improvement efforts throughout the program. Program Development Assist in developing systems, procedures, and operational processes that support long-term growth. Support curriculum implementation and enrichment programming. Participate in strategic planning and program improvement initiatives. Help build a culture of accountability, excellence, professionalism, and teamwork. Required Qualifications Must meet or exceed qualifications for leadership positions within Virginia licensed childcare programs. Minimum of three years of experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or early learning environment. Demonstrated leadership experience within a childcare setting. Strong knowledge of Virginia childcare licensing regulations and compliance requirements. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Required Experience Startup, turnaround, or growth-stage childcare experience is required. Proven success increasing enrollment and occupancy within a childcare, preschool, or early learning program. Experience conducting tours and converting prospective families into enrollments. Experience developing and maintaining community partnerships. Experience supporting staff development, coaching, and accountability. Experience implementing systems and processes that improve operational efficiency. Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of results. Preferred Education Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Human Services, Business Administration, or a related field.
