In-person Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and passionate Childcare Center Director to lead daily operations, educational quality, and staff management at our school. The Director is responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment while maintaining compliance with state licensing and upholding the standards of The Goddard School. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Oversee daily school operations and program management Ensure staffing schedules, classroom ratios, and coverage are maintained Lead, coach, and support Assistant Director, Program Supervisors, and teaching staff Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented culture Educational Quality Ensure curriculum is implemented with fidelity and aligns with Goddard standards Support classroom quality, child assessments, and developmental outcomes Encourage continuous improvement and professional development Compliance & Licensing Maintain compliance with state licensing, health, and safety regulations Prepare for and lead licensing inspections and audits Ensure staff training, certifications, and documentation are up to date Family & Enrollment Build strong relationships with families and serve as the primary point of contact Support enrollment, retention, and family communication Address parent concerns professionally and promptly Administrative & Financial Oversight Oversee payroll accuracy, timekeeping, and attendance Support budgeting, purchasing, and operational expenses Implement school policies and procedures consistently Qualifications Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required/preferred per state) Director-level qualification per state licensing requirements Previous leadership or management experience in a childcare or school setting Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Knowledge of childcare licensing and regulatory requirements Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Paid time off and holidays Professional development and training Supportive leadership team and growth opportunities About The Goddard School® The Goddard School is a nationally recognized leader in early childhood education, offering a play-based, inquiry-driven curriculum focused on developing the whole child in a safe, nurturing environment.
