In this dynamic role, you will lead engaging classroom activities, develop innovative curricula, and create a warm, inclusive environment that supports each child's unique growth. Your expertise will help lay the foundation for lifelong success by guiding children through critical early learning milestones with enthusiasm and professionalism. Duties Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards using Creative Curriculum and Frogstreet Curriculum. Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that promote respect, cooperation, and curiosity. Collaborate with families, colleagues, coaches and specialists to support children's individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services. Monitor and assess each child's progress using Teaching Strategies GOLD, ASQ-3, and E-DECA. Incorporate Conscious Discipline principles to enhance classroom management and social emotional learning opportunities. Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence. Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, curriculum development, and best practices in preschool education. Requirements Proven classroom experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare or private school setting. Maintain yearly DHR licensing CCDF training, Food Handlers certification, and 20 hours of child development training. Must pass the DHR licensing required criminal background check and Child Abuse/Neglect Registry check Familiarity with classroom management tools and methods from Creative Curriculum and Conscious Discilpline to create an organized learning environment. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, staff, and community partners. Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in early childhood education or related field; additional training in special education or Montessori methods is a plus. Be a role model and host early childhood education students from local colleges in a professional way that demonstrates appropriate teaching strategies for future educators.
