Daycare Teacher Early steps childcare center Phoenix, AZ Job Details Part-time | Full-time From $15.50 an hour 19 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Referral program Qualifications Working with individuals with developmental disabilities CPR Certification Outdoor work Teaching Certification Personal service experience with children High school diploma or GED First Aid Certification Food Handler Certification Full Job Description Job Overview Early Steps Childcare is searching for a dedicated Daycare Teacher that are hands-on and engaged with the children, passionate about creating a comfortable environment for students and parents alike, and ensuring the classroom is a safe and welcoming place for everyone. Your responsibilities will include supervising and educating children while also tending to their physical, social, and emotional needs, ensuring you are assisting them to grow cognitively. A responsibility that teachers also hold are creating lesson plans to further engage with the students. Ideally, we seek a creative, patient, and optimistic teacher that has strong knowledge surrounding child development and are capable of communicating with parents and guardians about students. Duties Planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development Supervise children during playtime, meals, nap times, and outdoor activities to ensure safety at all times Support children with their daily routines, including diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene Help manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, including sanitizing toys and learning materials regularly Observe and document children's progress, communicating any concerns to senior staff or parents as needed Support special education needs by working with children with disabilities or developmental delays in accordance with individualized plans Qualifications Prior experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or classroom setting is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices All appropriate teacher certifications by the state Certification in first aid and CPR is required or willing to obtain upon hire Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a strong plus Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff Join us in making a meaningful difference in young lives!
