RESPONSIBILITIES OF A PRESCHOOL TEACHER
Supervises, implements, and directs a classroom within an early learning program. Provides guidance to assistant and co-teachers within the classroom and/or center. Complete all daily reports on children within the classroom, showing competency with assigned technology. Exhibit sound judgement in challenging and adverse scenarios, prioritizing child safety. Collaborate with peers and be effective in working in team-based environment. Understands and maintains ADHS state licensing rules and regulations and YMCA childcare program standards. Develops positive relationships and uses positive tone & communication with children and parents. Preserves quality condition of all supplies, equipment, materials, and cleanliness of site. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures. Completes incident and accident reports, as necessary. Attend staff meetings and training courses as required. Incorporates the mission, philosophy, and 4 core values of the YMCA in all communication with participants and co-workers. This is not an exhaustive list of job duties. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS TO BE A PRESCHOOL TEACHER
: 18 years of age or older Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and negative TB test (must possess prior to working with children) 12 months qualifying experience in childcare field and 6 credit hours in the childcare field or 60 documented training hours. Reliable transportation to commute to assigned centers. Able to be flexible and work with multiple teams. Possess mature judgment and sound decision-making. Ability to communicate effectively with members, peers, and supervisor. Must be observant, safety conscious and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency.
