DEFINITION
Under the direction of site Principal and/or Designee, will provide instruction and basic supervision of children. Creates a flexible preschool program and a learning environment favorable to learning and personal growth for preschool students using specific teaching strategies and methodologies in the core curriculum aligned with the Preschool Learning Foundations and as defined by goals and objectives in each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The Education Specialist will provide services in a variety of settings; as an itinerant teacher, co-teacher, assessor, and coach. Performs other related work as necessary or required.   • Valid California Credential authorizing service in Early Childhood Special Education w/English Learner Authorization
  • Verification Letter from the University stating program completion date (must be no later than end of June 2026) of the Early Childhood Special Education Teaching Credential w/English Learner Authorization
  • Eligibility for a Special Education Limited Assignment Teaching Permit (
Requirements:
Holds a valid California Special Education teaching credential, including three semester units (or four quarter units) of course work from a regionally accredited college or university in each special education specialty area requested.) In addition to the requirements above, you must complete the EdJoin application and upload the following documents: Copy of Transcript (Official transcripts will be required upon employment) Credential Copy (Detailed document from CTC [must show authorization]) Letter of Introduction (Addressed to: Dr. David Appling) Letter(s) of Recommendation (Signed Letters Required

  • Additional salary increases are earned for longevity with MSD;
  • Additional salary steps can be credited for experience for each full year of prior public school teaching experience with proof of service(s);
  • Certificated staff are paid monthly on an 11-month pay schedule (August-June/CalSTRS or September-July/CalPERS);
  • 2025/26 salary Board Approved February 19, 2026, new schedule will be posted May 2026;
