Job Description

This lead preschool teacher job is for United States residents only. About us, Bonita Montessori is looking for a qualified and experienced Professional Lead Preschool Teacher for ages 18 months to 5 years olds. Must have minimum 1 year of experience as a Lead Preschool Teacher. A preschool teacher must be loving, patient and educational focused on teaching and positive discipline. Must be able to work as a team with all other teachers. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods, as well as, the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental, emotional, and spiritual development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education. Lead Preschool Teacher Responsibilities Develop a careful and creative curriculum. Plans, prepares, and delivers lesson plans and instructional materials that help students progress towards mastery of grade level standards, using the Montessori method and Project Based Learning. Develops schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments that are in accordance with established procedures. Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children Must use positive discipline Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.) Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times Track children's progress and report to parents Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche Collaborate with other educators, work as a team with all other teachers. Maintain a clean and tidy classroom, eating area and playground consistent with health and safety standards Changing diapers as necessary Take children to and from the bathroom and supervise children while they are in the bathroom Potty train, this includes changing pull-ups and clothes when necessarily. Oversee the health and safety of the children in the class assigned; includes knowing the ratio and head count of the children at all times, monitoring in all areas, assessing child's well-being Maintain the cleanliness of the classroom Lead Preschool Teacher Skills MUST have proven experience as a Professional Lead Preschool Teacher Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms Administers, proctors, secures, and submits State, District, and school standardized assessments following State, District, and school policies and regulations. Provide excellent customer service Strong organizational/time management skills and detail-oriented with the ability to work Excellent communication and instructional skills Ability to act as mediator between children Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable Warm, supportive, and cooperative attitude toward co-workers, children, and families. Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and schedule a calendar of events. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Certification in child CPR Live-Scan Finger Printed TB test
Professional Lead Preschool Teacher:
Minimum of 12 CD units (Principles of Child Development, Curriculum, Child, Family & Community or equivalent) or AMS or AMI certification. Payment is based on experience and overall education. If you are hired, your day will be filled with educating, disciplining, playing, caring, and cleaning! This is a high energy job and will require constant engagement!
