In this role, you will create a warm, engaging classroom environment that promotes curiosity, social-emotional development, and foundational skills for children aged one to three years old. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help lay the groundwork for lifelong learning, fostering growth through play, exploration, and intentional teaching strategies. Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that support early childhood development goals, including literacy, social skills, and motor skills. Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence among toddlers. Engage children in activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and physical growth through play-based learning and structured lessons. Monitor and document each child's developmental progress, adhering to early intervention strategies when necessary. Manage classroom routines such as diapering, feeding, nap times, and transition activities with patience and professionalism. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns related to child welfare or development. Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure the safety and well-being of every child in accordance with state regulations. Skills Strong knowledge of childhood development principles specific to toddlers and preschool-aged children. Experience in curriculum development tailored for early learners, including literacy education and basic math concepts. Skilled in classroom management techniques that foster positive behavior management and social-emotional learning. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate Montessori methods or other child-centered educational philosophies. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and specialists in special education or early intervention programs. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies to ensure compliance and safety. Proven experience working with children in daycare settings or preschool environments; prior classroom experience is highly valued.
