The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a CHRIST centered, nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and encouraging Biblical Values to students and assistant teachers. You will also be required to be christian and attending a christian church to further foster their spiritual development. Responsibilities Plans both long- and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, program philosophy and developmentally appropriate practices Creates learning spaces that support and enhance curriculum activities Establishes daily routines and provides positive guidance Provides supervision of children at all times Implements positive discipline policies for classroom management to encourage self-regulation and to build children's self-esteem Ensures the facility and equipment are clean, well maintained, and safe at all times Maintains daily open communication with parents in a friendly and respectful manner Completes bi-annual assessment of each child and reports progress to parents through parent-teacher conferences Attends Professional Development Days, staff meetings and school sponsored activities Supervises assistants, aides and any volunteers in the classroom Encourages and includes assistants in curriculum planning and implementation Organizes and maintains appropriate children's information and classroom supplies Promotes staff teamwork and community relationships Maintains confidentiality with staff and families Supports all school and church policies and meets all applicable Licensing regulations Is open to sharing in prayer time and bible story sharing. Skills Caring, compassionate and has a love for young children Must be of Christian Faith and attend a christian church. Must have completed the minimum of 12 ECE units required by Licensing to be fully qualified; AA or BA in Early Childhood Education is preferred 2+ years experience in a childcare setting Current CPR and First Aid certification (can be completed post-hire) Ability to meet all school, church and State Licensing requirements Possesses great organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Must be flexible as to classroom assignment, work schedule and interruptions to routine Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults, both orally and written Demonstrates a creative and enthusiastic teaching style Energetic and able to bend, kneel, siton the floor, stand for long periods, and move quickly Self-directed, with diplomatic supervisory skills and respect for the chain-of-command Ability to remain calm and level-headed in stressful situations and/or emergencies Has basic technology skills, e.g.-email, internet, simple phone system, copier, ProCare App Ability to left up to 40 lbs. is desirable.
