Job Description

Preschool Assistant Teacher We are looking for a qualified part time Preschool Teacher. A preschool teacher must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education. Be a positive Christian role model in working with the children, their parents, and other staff.
Basic Job Description:
To serve as a Lead Teacher in a Church Preschool program for children ages 3 through 5.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Must have 12 units in early childhood education or child development completed. 2. Or have a minimum 6-core early childhood education (ECE) units completed and are enrolled in coursework as required by regulation to complete the 6 additional units. And enrolled in a minimum of 2 units per semester. 3. Minimum of 1 year experience of leading a class with children 3-5 years old.
Tasks/Responsibilities :
1. Be a positive Christian role model in working with the children, their parents, and other staff. 2.Organizing activities designed to promote spiritual, physical, cognitive, language and social-emotional development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, circle time, supervising playtime and assist with required bathroom needs, etc. 3. Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of self- esteem and self-discipline. 4. Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem and encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments 5. Preparing daily needs for the classroom—securing and preparing materials, snacks, equipment, etc. 6. Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards. At the end of each day, work with teacher to prepare classroom for the next day such as sweep vacuum and empty trash, etc. 7. Perform other tasks/duties which the job requires and as assigned. 8. Maintain high standards of safety, and hygiene at all times. 9. Attend Staff meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
