Job Description
Position Summary The Childcare Assistant is a Christ-centered individual, strong and growing in their faith, a student of the Bible, "above reproach" (I Timothy 3 and Titus 1), and active in the local church. This person should be currently demonstrating a "Christ-like" lifestyle that represents Christ and His hands and feet in the broader community. The Childcare Assistant should be relationally driven and passionate about children. The Childcare Assistant will assist our Child Services Manager in supervising and caring for children current at Evangel Home. As an Assistant you are also responsible for the social, emotional, educational and spiritual care of children.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)- Must have a strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and it should be evident in both the personal and professional life
- Must agree to the mission statement, values, faith statement, and Christian Conduct Agreement
- Must be able to uphold and support the mission statement, values, and faith statements
- High School Graduate and 18 years of age or older.
- Completed 3 to 6 units in Early Childhood Education Units or equivalent experience.
- Track record of reliability, dependability, and conscientious work habits
- Multitasker who does not become easily overwhelmed
- Mandated Reporter Training & Certification (Training Provided)
- Clear Background Check for State & Federal before working with Children
- Completed First Aid and CPR training within 6 months of employment
Team-oriented:
Respectful and collaborative communication skills, flexibility, ability to request assistance when needed and fill in where needed with a variety of functions.- Ongoing development of conflict-management skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills and information as well as accept constructive feedback and instruction.
- Good interpersonal skills with children and adults.
- Maintains a supportive and nurturing posture, even when delivering and maintaining expectations.
