As a member of our staff, you will have a significant role in ministering to the needs of the children entrusted to our care. We value the contributions of each team member as we work together to provide a nurturing, loving and safe environment where children, parents, and teachers partner in the growth of our children. The preschool teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that align with our Christian based curriculum and meet the needs of each child.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child
  • Establish positive relationships with children and their families, and maintain open communication with parents about their child's progress and needs
  • Assess each child's development and progress and share this information with parents and other staff members as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to develop and implement lesson plans and classroom activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, lesson plans, and child assessments.
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development workshops, and classes as required.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of twelve college units in Early Childhood Education (12 ECE Units)
  • At least six months of work experience in a licensed childcare center
  • Strong knowledge of child development and early childhood education best practices
  • Live scan fingerprint record
  • Ability to create a positive and engaging faith-based learning environment. Strong organizational and time management skills
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education is preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to sit on the floor and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move around the classroom and playground freely A Joyful Noise Learning Center is one of the ministries of the Community Church of Hayward, as an outreach to children and their families.
