On-Call Preschool Teacher Vista Hill Foundation - 3.6 La Mesa, CA Job Details Part-time $18.00 - $23.50 an hour 13 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Loan forgiveness Qualifications Physical assistance for special education students Driver's License Working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds Driving Teaching experience with young children Full Job Description PROGRAM The Therapeutic Learning Center (TLC) is a licensed day care facility provided as supplemental support for clients of Parent Care Family Recovery Services, serving mothers with substance use disorders and other mental health issues. Clients can be assured their children are safe as they work towards their sobriety goals and practice parenting skills.
POSITION
Under General supervision the Teacher position is responsible for providing high quality effective developmental and educational consulting services to children and their parents. The Teacher position provides support to the program's Teacher Aids and volunteer staffs as needed. Child care environment subject to frequent interruptions. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to physically assist children with mobility issues and care needs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Any field work portion of the job may require driving. This position uses relevant educational and teaching materials. Limited use of computer and other office equipment required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in early childhood is preferred, 12 units in early childhood development, child development, education, counseling or related field required. Minimum of 2 years teaching experience with preschool or early intervention program required. This job is very physical in nature-applicants must be able to move quickly, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 40lbs. unassisted. Must offer certain linguistic, gender, cultural and ethnic specific skills: must be able to work with culturally diverse population. Must be free of parole and probation for a period of 3 years as specified by program contract. Must have a valid California driver's license and a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check, TB, drug screen, and MMR vaccine requirements. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred California Commission on Teacher Credentialing permit preferred.
Hours ON-CALL:
Up to 20 hours per week, hours vary between 8:30am-4:00pm Monday through Friday PAY 12 units in
Child Development:
$21.50 3-11 units in
Child Development:
$18.00 This is a starting rate and may be adjusted up based on education and experience. Current Vista Hill employees in this job title for 2025 are paid $21.50-$23.50 BENEFITS Employees working over 30 hours a week receive employer paid benefits, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, paid holidays, employer paid retirement contribution and clinical supervision (if applicable). Some programs qualify for student loan forgiveness programs. Employees who work less than 30 hours a week do not qualify for healthcare benefits.
