Job Description

Twigs to Trees Child Development Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Infant Lead Teacher to join our team. The Infant Lead Teacher provides direct care, supervision and a stimulating environment for infants, meeting their physical, emotional and developmental needs through attentive, loving interactions and engaging activities. Responsibilities include maintaining clear communication with parents and collaborating closely with other staff members. This position ensures compliance with California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and Community Care Licensing (CCL) regulations, including Title 5, Title 22 and other state and city mandates regarding fire, building and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum plans tailored to infants' (age 3-24 months) developmental stages, including literacy education, motor skills and social-emotional growth Create a safe, welcoming and nurturing classroom environment that promotes exploration, curiosity and learning through play Monitor and document each child's progress using DRDP and other methods and observational assessments to inform individualized lesson planning Collaborate with families to discuss developmental milestones, behavior management strategies and early intervention needs Manage classroom routines such as diapering, feeding, nap times and physical activities in accordance with health and safety standards Soothe infants through gentle interaction, singing and other calming activities, providing emotional support to create a secure attachment Incorporate principles and other educational philosophies such as Reggio Emilia to enhance learning experiences and classroom enviroment Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones and classroom activities while ensuring compliance with childcare regulations Work closely with other staff to ensure a cohesive, high-quality approach to infant care and curriculum planning Participate in professional development in areas such as childhood development, special education techniques and classroom management strategies Minimum Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED required
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Child Development with at least 3-6 Infant/Toddler development units Associate's degree with 60 units, including 3-6 units in Infant/Toddler development Experience At least 2 years of experience working with infants in a childcare setting Licenses & Requirements Valid California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit, Teacher Permit, Master Teacher Permit or Site Supervisor Permit Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification Additional Skills In-depth knowledge of child development principles, CA Infant/Toddler Framework, and Learning Foundations Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents Flexibility in adapting to assignments and receiving constructive feedback, with a focus on professional growth Ability to use sound judgment and handle challenges with professionalism Physical ability to lift and carry children and items weighing up to 50 pounds Terms of Employment Full-time, 12-month position Criminal Justice Department Fingerprint Clearance, Physical, and TB Clearance required. Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
