Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities. Lead a specific age group/classroom, guiding and supporting co-teachers. Create and nurture meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Organize and participate in family events and community-building activities. Maintain a clean and organized classroom, ensuring it's a safe space for all children. Communicate effectively with parents and co-workers in a professional, positive manner. Other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the program. Education Qualifications (one of the following): 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development (CD), or Associate, Teacher, or Master Teacher Child Development Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. At least 3 units must be an Infant or Toddler course.General Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 6 months of experience working with children in a group setting. Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate activities. Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine ability to connect with children and adults. Respect for diversity and the ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with families and coworkers. Strong character values such as respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring. Excellent communication skills and emotional maturity.Required Health & Safety Qualifications:
Current immunizations (TB, influenza, pertussis, measles) and a physical exam. Background check, including Live Scan and reference checks. EMSA-approved Infant, Child, and Adult CPR and Basic First Aid Mandatory Training & Certifications (to be completed upon hire): California Child Care Preventative Health and Safety Training Rising Stars Academy Workplace Harassment online training Candidates preferably reside within a 20-mile radius of ZIP code 90250 at the time of application.
