Non-Exempt / Full-Time We are hiring for our Los Angeles site and Long Beach site
Position Summary:
The Lead Preschool Teacher provides instructional leadership and oversight for classroom planning, assessment, and team collaboration. This position ensures program fidelity to The Creative Curriculum, supports assistant staff, and maintains the highest quality standards under NAEYC and ERS frameworks.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead curriculum planning and implementation of The Creative Curriculum Guide team in DRDP and ASQ assessments, ensuring accuracy and timelines. Mentor and support classroom teachers and aides, providing feedback and coaching. Monitor and maintain a high-quality ERCS classroom environment. Ensure consistent use of Learning Genie for communication, documentation, and family engagement. Foster inclusive practices that reflect family culture, language, and background. Promote strong family-teacher partnerships and facilitate conferences. Manage classroom materials, schedule, and safety practices. Model best practices in behavior guidance, transitions, and group time. Oversee compliance with Title 22, Title 5, CACFP, and school policies.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Completed 12 units, Associate's, Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred. Must obtain or hold an active ECE Permit within 90 days of employment. Current Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification. Must complete and maintain Mandated Reporter Child Abuse Training Certificate. TB test and immunizations for Tdap and MMR required; flu shot is optional. Commitment to ongoing professional development and leadership growth. Strong knowledge of DRDP, ASQ, ERS, and Learning Genie. At least 2 years of early education classroom experience
Physical & Safety Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Must engage in daily active movement: walking, bending, lifting, and floor time. Must act quickly in emergencies and maintain visual supervision of children at all times.
Professional Standards:
As part of a NAEYC-accredited program, all staff are expected to uphold a professional code of conduct in all interactions with children, families, and coworkers. Leadership includes setting an example in punctuality, responsibility, and ethical behavior.
Other Expectations:
Carry out tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Site Director, which may include acting as the Admonitors, assisting with staff onboarding, or overseeing school events.
