Francis Preschool seeks a Part-Time Preschool Teacher / Floating Transition Teacher classroom for the 2026-2027 school year! Position Summary We are currently seeking a Part-Time Preschool Teacher / Floating Transition Teacher who is confident, caring, and proactive—someone ready to support a vibrant learning environment. We're looking for a flexible, nurturing educator for a unique dual-role position that evolves over the school year. This role begins as a floating support teacher and transitions into a Lead Teacher position for a classroom of young 2-year-olds mid-year. You'll play a key role in helping children confidently transition into independent preschool while supporting the broader classroom community. The ideal candidate brings initiative, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent time management. You're comfortable in a busy classroom, love helping children grow, and enjoy being part of a collaborative, supportive teaching team. Preferred position start date is August 2026 to gently transition into our community and team before the new school year starts! Role Overview Fall (Aug-Dec): Floating & Transition Support Support our Time for Twos program (T/Th mornings) alongside an experienced teacher Build strong relationships with children and families prior to preschool transition Float between classrooms to support ratios, routines, and daily operations (MWF) Winter/Spring (Starting January): Lead + Floating Role Lead Teacher (MWF): Lead Classroom A for young 2-year-olds Plan and implement play-based curriculum Communicate with families and guide daily routines Floating Teacher (T/Th): Provide classroom coverage and support across the program Key Responsibilities Classroom Leadership & Support Create a nurturing, structured, and engaging classroom environment Support smooth transitions and daily routines Assist with classroom setup, organization, and cleanliness Step in as needed to maintain ratios and coverage Child Interaction Build warm, responsive relationships with children and families Support independence, social-emotional growth, and peer relationships Use positive guidance strategies and developmentally appropriate practices Assist with diapering, toileting, and self-care routines Team Collaboration & Community Work closely with all teaching staff in a collaborative environment Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and school events Foster strong, professional relationships with families What You Bring (Requirements) Passion for early childhood education, especially with 2-year-olds Confidence stepping into a Lead Teacher role mid-year Strong communication, organization, and time management skills Flexibility and a team-oriented mindset Minimum 12 ECE units Experience with toddlers or preschool-aged children Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Mandated Reporter Training (or in progress) LiveScan background check clearance Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stay active throughout the day
Schedule & Compensation Part-time:
20-25 hours/week Monday-Friday daytime schedule $25
