Teaching Early Childhood Education Full Job Description Preschool and Infant/Toddler Teachers Mission Statement:

Job functions and duties include:

➢ Plans, implements, and evaluates curriculum in accordance with the mission, purpose, and philosophy of Valor Christian Academy, under the supervision of the Director. ➢ Teaches critical thinking by asking open-ended questions (memorizes "words with children"). ➢ Is able to focus on individual children while being aware of what is happening throughout the classroom or on the yard. ➢ Keeps current developmental records and records observations of children in class. ➢ Communicates regularly with parents via written note, telephone or in person. Documents and dates all communication. ➢ Creates an atmosphere that is comfortable, colorful, eye-appealing, and uncluttered. ➢ Considers the outdoors part of the learning environment. Qualities and qualifications, we desire in a candidate: ➢ A strong testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and evidence of faith in action. ➢ Desire to invest in and disciple students in their relationship with the Lord. ➢ Evidence of a teachable heart, humility, and a gentle spirit. ➢ Good communication skills (both in articulation and listening), as well as relational skills in serving students and working with adults. ➢ Able to construct and apply developmentally appropriate lesson plans and practices in teaching. ➢ 12 ECE unit's minimum ➢ Minimum 1-year teaching experience preferred ➢ Excellent attendance record ➢ Energetic ➢ Team player ➢ Excellent written and verbal communication skills ➢ Professional ➢ Flexible ➢ Able to sit on floor, squat down to child's eye level and lift 50 lbs.
