Full-time Description:

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director or assigned administrator, to care for both staff members' children and students assigned to daycare, as well as supervise and care for the Family Center environment.

Qualifications:

Prior experience as a childcare provider is required. High School graduate or equivalency required. Must be 21 years of age or older. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as FHR/WCC may find appropriate and as allowed by state of law. Clear written and verbal communication skills Basic computer skills (e.g. Outlook email, Word)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide an organized, clean, functional and attractive environment reflecting the children's developmental ages. Provide physical care to the children such as diapering, toileting, feeding, etc. Maintain proper and age-appropriate schedules for the children such as feeding, napping, playing, etc. Use positive and age-appropriate behavioral management techniques relevant to the child's developmental level. Maintains and prepares instructional materials and play equipment. Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment and atmosphere which is conducive to children's growth. Plans motivating and fun developmentally appropriate activities for the children's' growth. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with co-workers, administration, students and families. Maintains positive relations with the children's families and apprises them of progress. Respects and maintains confidential records and personal information of all children. Helps to maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, play, living and sleep areas and assists in maintaining the living environment at the family center, e.g. cleans dishes, refrigerator, kitchen and bedroom laundry, maintains a tidy living room etc. Performs other such duties as directed by administration. Physical Requirements:

Ability to kneel and pick up to twenty-five pounds, to stand, sit, bend over or be at a child's height for long periods of time.
