Job Description
UC Riverside's Center for Early Childhood Education is recruiting for full-time Classroom Assistants. The full salary range for the Classroom Assistant is $21.92 - $25.10 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Under the general supervision of the Early Childhood Services (ECS) Executive Director, Site Supervisor, and the close supervision of the classroom Lead Teacher, the Classroom Assistant will provide assistance to ensure the smooth function of daily routines, implementation of the early care and education programs, and ensure compliance with mandated adult:child ratios. Works as part of the Early Childhood Services teaching team. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. degree 6 units of Early Childhood Education. Required experience Minimum of 1 year experience working in a licensed child development center. Required Hired applicant must successfully pass a background check prior to appointment start date. required Required Physical ability to lift and carry children up to 30 pounds, frequently and as necessary. Knowledge of appropriate health and safety standards for toileting, food handling and hand washing. Skill to communicate effectively with children, staff and parents. Knowledge of National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Developmentally Appropriate Practices. Knowledge of current philosophies and research in early care and education, Pre-K Guidelines, and Early Literacy. Skill to maintain confidentiality at all times. Skills to take direction in meeting children's needs, classroom needs and parent needs. Knowledge of appropriate health and safety standards for toileting, food handling and hand washing. Required
