Job Description

Preschool Teacher Growing Mindfully Sacramento, CA Job Details Full-time From $20 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Outdoor work First Aid Certification Pediatric first aid Associate's degree Early Childhood Education Full Job Description The work you do in these early years matters more than most people will ever understand. You already know that. It's why you chose this field. It's why you sit at eye level, why you take "why?" seriously the hundredth time it's asked, why you hold space for small humans figuring out who they are, how they fit, and what it means to be a friend. At Growing Mindfully, we built a school around that same conviction, and we believe you deserve a workplace that holds space for you , too. If you're looking for a job, this isn't it. If you're looking for the kind of place that takes this work as seriously as you do, keep reading. Who we are Growing Mindfully is the largest early childhood program in Sacramento County, and the highest-rated childcare program on Google in Sacramento County . One campus. Two licensed facilities. Built for depth, not sprawl. We're teacher-first by design. We don't measure that by what's printed in a handbook. We measure it by who is still on our team five, ten, and more years in. Several of our teachers have been with us for over a decade. That's not a coincidence. It's the point. Our environment is built with intention: room for children to explore, room for teachers to breathe, and a philosophy rooted in presence, not performance . What makes this role different We respect the emotional weight of this work. That's not a slogan. It's built into your day. A paid mindful start. Your shift opens with dedicated, paid time for meditation or quiet centering before you step onto the floor, so you arrive grounded, not depleted. 15-minute breaks, not 10. Five extra minutes might not sound like much, until you've actually taught a room of preschoolers through the full arc of a morning. It's the difference between refueling and decompressing. Annual wage reviews. Teachers have received raises every year. Loyalty and growth show up in the paycheck, not just the team meeting. Tenure that speaks for itself. Multiple teachers have been with us for 10+ years. We're proud of that, and we work to earn it every day. Monthly parking included. If you've taught downtown, you know exactly what that's worth. A philosophy of presence, not performance. How you show up matters as much as what you teach. What you'll do Teach and care for preschool-age children (approximately 2 to 5 years), building trust and confidence through consistent, responsive relationships Design and lead developmentally appropriate experiences grounded in our mindful teaching philosophy: early literacy, numeracy, social-emotional learning, art, music, outdoor play, and intentional quiet time Support children through the big stuff: first friendships, first conflicts, big feelings, big questions, and the everyday moments where curiosity becomes confidence Maintain a safe, clean, and emotionally secure classroom environment Partner with families as a trusted part of their child's early learning journey What we're looking for 18 years of age or older Completed ECE units including the core coursework in Child Development, Child, Family & Community, and Programs/Curriculum (AA or BA preferred) Current CPR & First Aid certification (Infant / Child / Adult) DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance Current TB test, health screening, and required immunizations A genuine love for preschool-age children and the patience this work asks of you The physical reality We believe in being honest about what this role asks of your body. You'll spend much of your day on the floor or in low chairs, occasionally lifting children up to 50 lbs, moving constantly between sitting and standing, and staying on your feet for long stretches. Outdoor play, in heat, cold, or both, is a regular part of the role. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities. How to apply Apply today through Indeed. We read every application personally. We'd love to meet you. Come teach somewhere that takes care of you the way you take care of them.
