We are looking for a 15-20 hour per week teacher for our half day preschool program. The new teacher will work three days per week, 7:30 am - 1:30 pm, with additional on-call substitute opportunities. There is significant potential for growth as our preschool continues to grow as well. Please look below to see if this position is right for you! Job Description We are seeking a preschool teacher who will enhance a vibrant and thriving parent cooperative preschool for children between the ages of 24 months and 5 years. We need someone who reflects the mission and values of Good Shepherd Church and shares our vision for the future of youth and family ministry. The new teacher will become part of a professional team including three other teachers, two of which co-direct the preschool on behalf of Good Shepherd Church. - High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 12 post-secondary units in Early Childhood education
- At least 18 years old
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, stand for a long period of time, run, walk, and jump
- Bachelor's degree in child development or related field preferred
- Previous experience as a preschool teacher or child caregiver preferred
- Passion for early childhood education
- High level of flexibility and willingness to learn and apply new skills
- Current CPR Certification or completion within 30 days of hire
- Background checks and health screening with TB test clearance Responsibilities
- Provide education and care for all children in the care of the preschool program three days per week, 7:30 am - 1:30 pm.
- Work alongside and support other teachers and parent volunteers of the program
- Utilize positive behavior management techniques to create a warm and nurturing environment
- Work with staff to ensure all regulations and policies are enforced
- Assist children with personal needs, including eating, hand washing and potty training or diapering
- Keep the school and learning areas organized, clean, and sanitary
- Follow and comply with all Title 22 regulations
- Follow and comply with all Good Shepherd Church employment policies
