We are a Christian preschool connected to Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church and seek a professional that has a strong Christian faith and is able to incorporate it into daily school activities. Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 1:30 Opportunity to sub full time 8:30-5:00 Must have 12 ECE units or a minimum of 9 ECE units and working towards 3 more to become a qualified teacher. Must have 3 units in infant/toddler curriculm Experience working with children is preferred. Paid time off and sick pay We follow the City School calendar for holidays and most school breaks. Work with infants through 3 yr olds
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities of the teaching assistants will include, but will not be limited to the following: Assist in implementing the daily program under the direction of the teacher Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies. Assist in supervising the playground and other outdoor activities. Assist with the general housekeeping tasks by straightening the room at transition times and cleaning up after class. Preparing and serving snacks. Giving teachers breaks feeding infants and caring for their needs Helping with toileting and diaper changing. Helping set up cots for nap Assist the teacher in any other appropriate ways, keeping adult conversation to a minimum, providing a model in usage of appropriate words and behavior with the children. Serve as a positive liaison with parents Maintain a professional attitude at all times Treat all children with dignity and respect Attend all staff meetings and training programs and workshops/conferences Carry out appropriate and positive guidance techniques as established by the school Being familiar with and handling emergency procedures Modeling appropriate social skills and nutrition habits for the children. Communicating the philosophy of the program to others. Perform other assigned duties as directed by the lead teacher or Director.
