In this dynamic role, you will create engaging learning environments that promote childhood development and literacy education, while fostering social-emotional growth. Your expertise in curriculum development and classroom management will help shape the foundational skills of our preschoolers, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating atmosphere for every child. Duties Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for preschool children Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and growFoster social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through play and structured activitiesChange diapersMonitor sleeping infantsRecord child's feedings, diapering and mood throughout the day Monitor and assess each child's progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and coordinate classroom activities Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in your careSupervise and ensure the safety of children at all times Plan and implement daily preschool instructional activities Interact with and care for the physical needs of the infant, toddler, and preschool-age children Maintain a hygienic learning environment Support the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the preschool program Exercise appropriate judgment in making decisions Maintain accurate records Communicate effectively both orally and in writing Follow oral and written instructions Attend meetings and in-service training activities. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with infant, toddler, and/or preschool students, parents, and program staff Willingness to learn and participate in new language exposure such as Spanish, ASL, Portuguese Physical abilities include but are not limited to: Must be able to hear and speak to exchange information See to perform assigned duties Sit or stand for extended periods Possess dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer and other equipment Kneel, bend at the waist, and reach overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally, to retrieve and store files. Lift objects. Lift children and equipment up to 50 pounds. Experience 2 years experience working as a preschool teacher or with children in school or in home daycare setting 12 core early childhood education units (•Including units in infant and toddler to meet qualifications•) or BA in child development or California CD Assistant Teacher Permit CPR and first aid (with EMSA certification) Mandated Reporter training Health Screening Background clearance required (Department of Justice/FBI/CACI ) Negative TB test Title 22 regulations-101173(b)(5), 101217, 101216 Skills Caring, nurturing, and positive attitude toward children Excellent verbal and written communication skills Successfully communicate with children, parents, and co-workers Emotional intelligence Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Patience and the ability to work well with young children Creativity and the ability to engage children in learning activities Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education techniques Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each child Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans, materials, and classroom activities All requirements are subject to possible modification to accommodate individuals with a disability.
