Child Development Program - Preschool Teacher (0715) Job Description Assesses the effectiveness of teaching and learning based on the development of individual children. Actively participates in ongoing professional development and encourages staff to grow professionally through books, periodicals, professional organizations, meetings, and study, as well as participating constructively in staff meetings, discussions, and assignments. Supports families to participate in their children's educational experiences and the Center Policy Advisory Council (CPAC). Is flexible in meeting the staffing needs of the school so that the program operates smoothly and effectively for children based on program need. Accepts constructive suggestions and evaluations conducive to professional growth and contributes constructive and objective suggestions to improve the program as a whole. Participates in and contributes to appropriate meetings during their work week for the well-being of the children and program as directed by the site administrator. The length of the work year for all teachers is 184 days of service, except department heads and deans/head counselors have 189 days of service. Principal expectations vary by school site.
