It is how they learn to socialize, communicate, and take calculated risks. It is also how children heal from adversity and process difficult situations or feelings they are experiencing. Our program will help children to use play to learn, explore their environments, and develop into well-rounded community members. Little Robles in the Sunset is searching for a Lead Teacher to join our growing team! This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the assigned classroom, including but not limited to the preparation of lesson plans, ensuring adherence to curriculum, maintaining a safe environment conducive to learning, and training of assistant teacher and teacher's aide. This individual will observe children, conduct assessments and write observation reports daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly per schedule, and manage the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. This position will report directly to the Director of Little Robles in the Sunset. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and implement an educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards Ensure a healthy and safe classroom learning environment including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards for the safety and security of children Plan individual and group age appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth Monitor children's performance to ensure learning is taking place and children are interested and engaged Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent teacher conferences Attend staff meetings and keep teacher assistants and aides informed Train teacher assistants and aides on all school processes and procedures while leading by example Maintain accurate records, forms, and files to ensure all center policies and state regulations are met Perform other duties as required Requirements 2+ years of experience with early childhood education in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program, including children under 5 years of age Minimum of 12 ECE in early childhood and 3ECE related to infant care Bilingual English/Spanish Effective problem solver and ability to self manage and devoted to seeing tasks through completion Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance Vacation and Sick Days 401k matching (based on contribution)
