401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Training & development Job Overview Joyful Learning Educational Development Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Education Teacher to provide high-quality care and instruction for young children in a nurturing and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in early childhood education, classroom management, and child development practices that support children's cognitive, social-emotional, language, and physical growth. The Early Education Teacher will create developmentally appropriate learning experiences while maintaining compliance with licensing regulations and program standards. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Child Development Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and classroom activities Support children's social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development Foster school readiness through hands-on learning, play-based activities, and positive interactions Conduct ongoing observations and developmental assessments, including DRDP documentation when applicable Develop individualized learning goals to support children's growth and progress Maintain active supervision and positive engagement with children throughout the day Support inclusive practices for children with diverse developmental and learning needs Classroom Management Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized classroom environment Implement positive behavior guidance and classroom management strategies Maintain classroom routines, transitions, and schedules Ensure compliance with Title 22, Title 5, licensing regulations, and organizational policies Work collaboratively with teaching staff, administrators, and families Administrative Duties Complete required lesson plans, attendance records, assessments, and classroom documentation Maintain communication with families regarding children's progress and daily activities Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and program operations Health & Safety Maintain a clean and sanitary classroom environment daily Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures Conduct and participate in required safety drills, including fire, earthquake, and lockdown drills Report injuries, incidents, hazards, or concerns promptly Assist with toileting, diapering, feeding, and caregiving routines as needed Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 40 pounds as part of daily childcare responsibilities Qualifications Must possess required ECE units or teaching qualifications per California licensing requirements Prior experience working in preschool, infant/toddler, or childcare settings preferred Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices Experience with curriculum planning, classroom management, and child assessments preferred CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain Must pass Live Scan fingerprint clearance, TB test, and required health screenings Skills Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Dependable, nurturing, and professional demeanor Passion for early childhood education and child development Benefits 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Work Location In person - San Jose, California
