We are looking for a creative and passionate educator to join our team here at Glenwood Children's Center! Preschool Lead Teacher (Reggio Emilia-Inspired Program) Glenwood Children's Center Scotts Valley, CA $30.00 per hour | Full-Time About Glenwood Children's Center Glenwood Children's Center is a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool serving children ages 2-5 in Scotts Valley, California. We believe children are capable, competent, and full of potential. Our program values relationships, inquiry, creativity, and meaningful connections with nature and the surrounding community. We are seeking passionate educators who view teaching as a collaborative and reflective practice and who are excited to help build a new school community from the ground up. Position Summary The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment while leading classroom operations, supporting children's development, mentoring teaching staff, and partnering with families. The Lead Teacher works collaboratively with the Director and teaching team to implement a play-based, emergent curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia Philosophy. Responsibilities Create a warm, inclusive, and responsive classroom environment Plan and facilitate developmentally appropriate learning experiences Observe, document, and support children's learning and development Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment Guide children's social-emotional growth through positive behavior support Build strong relationships with children and families Collaborate with colleagues during weekly planning meetings Mentor Assistant Teachers and support classroom teamwork Communicate regularly with families through Brightwheel and conferences Ensure compliance with all licensing and health and safety requirements Participate in professional development and school events Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Meets California Teacher Permit requirements or higher 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development units Minimum 2 years of experience working in a licensed preschool setting Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practice Excellent communication and collaboration skills Experience with Reggio Emilia, emergent curriculum, project-based learning, or play-based education preferred Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Ability to pass all required background clearances What We Offer Competitive compensation based on education and experience Paid professional development opportunities Weekly collaborative planning time Supportive and respectful work environment Opportunity to help shape a growing Reggio Emilia-inspired program Paid holidays and program closures Potential for leadership growth within the organization Schedule Monday-Friday Full-Time Year-Round Program Pay $25-$30 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
