Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Daycare Assistant to support the daily operations of our early childhood education center. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children and a strong understanding of childhood development principles. As a Daycare Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young learners, assisting lead teachers in implementing educational activities and ensuring the well-being of every child. Duties Support classroom activities by helping plan and facilitate age-appropriate learning experiences for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Assist in supervising children during playtime, meals, naps, and other daily routines to ensure safety and comfort. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment that promotes learning and development. Collaborate with lead teachers to observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and special needs. Implement health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary, to ensure the well-being of all children. Support children with disabilities or special needs by providing tailored care and assistance as directed by educators or specialists. Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's daily activities, milestones, and any concerns. Skills Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages. Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings. Familiarity with classroom management techniques to foster positive behavior and engagement. Certification in first aid and CPR to respond promptly to emergencies. Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or special needs. Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities. Experience in toddler care, infant care, or nannying is highly desirable to support diverse age groups within the center. $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
