PM Base Qualifications:
At least (18) eighteen years of age Must be Early Childhood Teacher qualified in the state of Colorado or hold a Colorado Level 2 credential. Able to relate well with children and adults. Works well as part of a team with sufficient maturity and judgment to handle crisis situations in a positive way. Demonstrates an interest in and knowledge of children & Montessori philosophy. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following: Assists in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the Lead Teacher Takes direction from the Lead Guide and follows through on it Supervises the classroom when the Teacher is not present Implements positive classroom management procedures, ensuring that all feel respect, support, trust and love and are building self-discipline for ones own behavior Helps children become aware of their roles as integral members of a group by modeling and guiding respectful and responsible behavior at all times Supports independence of the child and being sensitive to his/her real needs Respects the individuality of each child and support the process of learning moment to moment Is aware of concentration in the child and avoids disturbing it at all costs Observes the class as a whole, as well as the individuals, in order to maintain a sense of the complete activities in the classroom Protects the lesson and organized flow of the classroom at all times Helps children build respectful social and grace & courtesy skills. Avoid interfering in their battles (unless a child is being hurt) so that they can learn natural conflict resolution skills Makes materials for the classes as requested by the Lead Teacher Completes all child-related paperwork on a daily/weekly basis and copy for permanent file as necessary, under the directions of the Lead teacher. Works as an integral team member to ensure the smooth coordination of all classroom activities plus staff and student inter-relationships Share the responsibility for the safety and physical well being of the students at all times Maintain professional attitudes, calm demeanor, and loyalty to the school at all times
