Full Job Description Description:
Blessed Sacrament Catholic School is seeking a caring, cooperative, and motivated after-school care teacher. The teacher is hired by and directly accountable to the Preschool Director and Principal. A Blessed Sacrament paraprofessional supports all Early Childhood Teachers in classrooms, in the lunchroom, and on the playground by guiding children as they grow and develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically, and spiritually. The paraprofessional will need strong communicative, collaborative, and organizational skills as well as a desire to actively contribute to a mission-driven school culture. The individual in this role will also support the Blessed Sacrament after-school care program Monday through Friday from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. The school operates two afterschool programs: Fledgling's Nest for preschool students and Falcon's Nest for K-8th grade students. After-school care teachers support students in completing homework, coordinate activities, and monitor students as they play indoors and on the playground. The teacher is expected to abide by the policies and procedures of the local school, the Archdiocese of Denver, and the Office of Catholic Schools. The teacher cooperates with the principal and staff in providing an environment that promotes the ministry of Catholic education.
Requirements:
Experience working with children Being on your feet 80-90% of the time Going up and down multiple flights of stairs daily Getting onto and off of the floor to sit or squat to meet children's eye levels Colorado early childhood leveled credential Acting in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church Fingerprints and background checks in compliance with licensing requirements Safe Environment Training (can be earned after hire)
Preferences :
Associate or Bachelor's degree ECE 101 and 103 completion, CDA, and/or
CO Early Childhood Leveled Credential II Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Teach and act in accordance with doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church Know, teach, and act consistently in accordance with the mission, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Blessed Sacrament Catholic school Assists and supports all preschool teachers and paraprofessionals in maintaining safe, clean learning environments for all children in his/her care Maintains a cooperative attitude of working together with teachers, parents, and other staff in planning and implementing activities Exhibits a genuine nurturing and caring attitude towards all children Assists Early Childhood Teachers and/or other staff in maintaining discipline and supervision of children during classroom activities, lunch, recess, nap time, and special events Maintains a positive calm attitude with a soft voice and encourages this attitude and voice in others working in the classroom Communicates effectively and charitably with families, teachers, and staff Supervises children and assists specials teachers during specials (P.E., Spanish, Art, etc.) Attends all required staff trainings and meetings Maintains their own professional profile on PDIS and complies with all school, state, and federal preschool requirements and regulations Follows established confidentiality, safety, and emergency procedures
