Position Title:
Pre-K Teacher Qualifications:
Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification that covers Pre-K (112, 113) College or university degree with a concentration in early childhood education.
Reports to:
Building Principal and/or designee
Compensation:
In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.
Assignment Period:
2026-2027 School Year assignment.
Start date:
August 18, 2026
Responsibilities:
The Pre-K Teacher has the following responsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Building Principal and/or designee: Prepare instructional resources and assessments that support the delivery of the Avon Public School's curriculum, particularly the Pre-K disciplines. Develop and implement lesson plans, unit plans, and educational projects to ensure students' academic development. Provide differentiated instructional strategies and assessment and/or modify the curriculum to meet the learning needs of students with structured learning plans (IEPs and 504s) Provide support to all learners who require additional help or guidance with academic problems and concepts. Case management for students on IEPs and 504 plans. Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
