Job Description

Infant and Toddler Teacher Description:
Would you like to work for an established, quality, community early learning program in the unique environment of a children's museum? Come work for our NAEYC Accredited Early Learning Program with our youngest learners! The infant/toddler teachers are a valuable part of our teaching team in the Early Learning Center. The infant/toddler teachers implement daily activities and lessons in the classroom, must be familiar with lesson planning, observation, documentation, and assessments in accordance with NAEYC and OEC guidelines. The teachers are responsible to prepare the learning environment, conduct small group lessons, and supervise the children under their care.
Competency Requirements:
The infant/toddler teacher should be familiar with: NAEYC standards and NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct CT state licensing guidelines DAP CT Early Learning and Development Standards (CT-ELDS) Some familiarity with the Reggio-Emilia approach to education is preferred.
Educational Requirements:
At least one year of experience working with infants and toddlers An Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is required for this position. First Aid, CPR, and Administration of Medication is preferred, but not required. Teacher should be outgoing, friendly, detail-oriented, flexible, reliable, a team player, able to multi-task and take direction well, possess strong leadership and classroom management skills, ambitious and goal oriented Able to supervise assistant teachers and support staff Monday-Friday work schedule, flexibility is a must. Full time position with benefits. Salary exempt position, compensation based on education and experience.
