Job Description

Early Childhood Educator / Developmental Therapist (Current CT Certification Required) Beacon Services of Connecticut provides early intervention specialty services to families and young children across Connecticut. Our regional teams of educators and clinicians work together to provide high quality supports based on best practices. Whether you are new to the profession or looking for a change, we offer a rewarding career path with flexible schedules, ongoing training, and a supportive work environment. Job Description Applicants must be currently certified to teach in CT. Our Developmental Therapists work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing in-home services to families with children between the ages of birth to three. They assist in evaluating a child's skills across a variety of developmental domains and then use this information to help families best support their children's growth. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required Current CT teaching certification in Early Childhood Special Education required (#112, #113, #065, #165, #265, #055, #059, #057) Candidates with an Infant, Toddler, Family Specialist Credential from the Connecticut Birth to Three System with endorsement #123 can be considered for a Developmental Therapy Specialist (DSP) Some Important Skills Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with others Must have strong organizational skills Must possess a teamwork mindset Must be able to translate evaluation/assessment results into interventions What else to know All staff receive ongoing professional development, training, and support Our staff deliver in home supports within a designated region - travel required Meetings for professional collaboration are held regularly to help support continuity of supports Benefits Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Flexible Spending Plans 401K Retirement Plan Generous paid time off (Vacation, Holiday, Sick) Support for continuing education Please visit our website at www.beaconct.org to learn more about our organization!
