Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract An educational opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in PreK and Early Childhood education. This contract position is based in Meriden, CT, and offers a chance to contribute to a supportive learning environment for young learners with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver daily instruction tailored to a caseload of approximately 12 PreK students. Prepare and participate in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings. Write and maintain progress marks and individualized educational goals. Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to enhance student learning outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience teaching PreK in a public school setting is required. Hold a valid Connecticut certification #112 or #113 in Early Childhood Education. Strong understanding of special education practices and child development. Effective communication and organizational skills to manage documentation and student progress.

Scheduled Hours:
27.5 hours per week, distributed as 5.5 hours per day, 5 days a week.
