Job Description

The Lead Teacher is responsible for the care, supervision, and safety of The Center's children. The Head Teacher provides leadership in the planning, organization, and implementation of developmentally appropriate educational services for children. The Lead Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing curriculum and classroom activities that align with the Connecticut Early Learning Standards (CT ELDS) and support the social, emotional, physical, and academic development of children.
Responsibilities include:
Planning and implementing daily classroom curriculum and learning activities Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment Conducting regular assessments of children's growth and development Providing ongoing documentation of children's progress Communicating effectively with parents and caregivers regarding children's development and classroom activities Supervising classroom staff, interns, and volunteers Ensuring compliance with Office of Early Childhood (OEC) Child Care Licensing regulations and NAEYC standards Supporting positive behavior guidance and social-emotional development Participating in staff meetings, trainings, and program planning activities Working collaboratively with administration and program staff to support high-quality programming The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organization, communication, and classroom management skills, along with a commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education services to children and families.
