In this role, you will create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children aged 18 months to 3 years old. Your expertise in Montessori methods, combined with your enthusiasm for early childhood development, will inspire young learners to explore, discover, and grow. As a key educator, you will foster independence, curiosity, and social-emotional skills while ensuring a safe and welcoming classroom experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young children's lives through innovative teaching and personalized care. Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate Montessori curriculum plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in toddlers Create a warm, inviting classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence in line with Montessori principles Guide children through daily routines including diapering or potty training, meal times, naps, and outdoor activities with patience and sensitivity Observe and assess each child's progress regularly; tailor instruction to meet individual developmental needs Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques aligned with child welfare standards Collaborate with parents and guardians through regular communication about their child's growth, milestones, and any concerns Maintain detailed records of child development progress, attendance, and classroom activities in compliance with mandated reporting laws Support early intervention strategies when necessary to assist children with special education needs or developmental delays Incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education activities, and other foundational skills into daily lessons Uphold health and safety standards by ensuring proper sanitation practices and adhering to daycare regulations Qualifications Proven experience working with young children in a childcare or preschool setting; prior Montessori toddler teaching experience is highly preferred Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and Montessori educational methods Familiarity with curriculum development tailored for toddlers that emphasizes hands-on learning and independence Understanding of special education practices and early intervention strategies for diverse learners Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners Ability to manage classroom behavior positively while fostering a respectful learning environment Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety compliance Demonstrated skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and child development instruction Passion for early childhood education with a focus on nurturing each child's unique potential Join us in shaping the future by providing young children with the foundation they need to thrive!
