Job Description:
IDEA Public Charter School is seeking a passionate and student-centered Childcare & Development Teacher to support students interested in careers related to early childhood education, child development, and education. The teacher will instruct two sections of Childcare & Development courses and provide students with foundational knowledge related to child growth and development, learning environments, professionalism, and caregiving practices. The position will also play an important role in preparing students to earn the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and pursue postsecondary opportunities in education and related fields. The ideal candidate believes in hands-on, career-focused learning and can create engaging classroom experiences that connect theory to real-world application. The teacher will help students develop both technical knowledge and professional skills while fostering positive relationships and a supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities Teach two sections of Childcare & Development courses Prepare and support students in working toward the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential Develop engaging, hands-on lessons related to child development, learning, and caregiving Incorporate real-world learning experiences and career exploration into instruction Support students in developing professionalism, communication, and workplace readiness skills Collaborate with school staff and community partners to support student learning opportunities Maintain accurate student records, grades, and credentialing documentation Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
