Washington, DC Job Details Seasonal | Full-time $23.43 - $24.80 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description CentroNía is looking for a Pre-K Summer Camp Teacher to join our team for the summer! You will work in the classroom under the direction of the Lead Teacher to reinforce lessons and create a positive, engaging environment for our youngest campers.
Responsibilities:
Implement PreK Curriculum:
Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to plan and implement a daily program tailored for prekindergarten aged children, focusing on ageappropriate learning and development.
Reinforce Lessons:
Support and reinforce educational lessons and activities within the summer camp structure.
Maintain Classroom Environment:
Assist in maintaining classroom records, including attendance. Ensure records on children and families are current, complete, and confidential.
Health and Safety:
Ensure children's health and safety, including checking shared areas (bathroom, playgrounds) for hazards. Ensure all children are signed in and out of the center upon dropoff and pickup in accordance with CentroNía standards.
Child Development Knowledge:
Apply knowledge of child development, including typical and atypical language, cognitive, motor, social, and selfhelp skills, to support all children.
Parent Involvement:
Assist in ensuring parent involvement through communication and conferences, recognizing them as the principal influence on their child's education.
Compliance:
Comply with documentation and recordkeeping responsibilities. Ensure required reports are completed accurately and timely. Adhere to state and local rules and regulations governing childcare, NAEYC accreditation standards, and District of Columbia Standards.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with staff in developing activity plans and program implementation. Support the program by completing other duties as assigned by the Coordinator/Director or Lead Teacher.
Qualifications:
Experience:
23 years of experience in an Early Childhood Education setting, specifically with prekindergarten age groups preferred.
Certification:
CDA Certification for Infants and Toddlers, or related field, prior to employment (and maintained during employment) or CDA plus credits in Associates in Education, Child Development, or related field.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Certifications:
Current First Aid certificate within 30 days of employment (and maintained during employment).
Language Fluency:
English fluency is required.
Adaptability:
Flexibility in schedules, sharing tasks, and changes in routines.
Bilingual:
Bilingual (EnglishSpanish / SpanishEnglish) highly preferred, but not required.
