Open Until Filled Woodbridge School District is accepting applications for an Elementary Teacher at WECEC. This is a full-time, 10-month, benefit-eligible teaching position.JOB SUMMARY
: An elementary teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students in grades Pre-K-2. The teacher will create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that fosters students' intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development. The teacher will work to ensure that students meet or exceed academic standards while also promoting a love for learning and personal growth.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
: Must hold or be eligible for teaching certification in elementary education in the State of Delaware. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university Pathways to Proficient Reading or LETRS certification preferred Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and disabilities Ability to design and implement differentiated instruction that meets the needs of all learners Excellent communication and organizational skills Passion for teaching and dedication to student success Ability to create an inclusive, respectful, and positive learning environmentESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with state and district curriculum standards across subjects. Integrate hands-on, interactive, and inquiry-based learning activities that engage students and promote critical thinking. Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learners, including students with varying abilities and needs. Use a variety of instructional strategies, including technology, cooperative learning, and project-based learning, to enhance student understanding and participation. Create and maintain a positive, supportive, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning. Establish clear expectations for student behavior and implement consistent classroom rules and routines. Foster a growth mindset by encouraging positive behavior, effort, and perseverance. Use positive reinforcement strategies to encourage student participation, cooperation, and accountability. Regularly assess students' academic progress using both formal and informal methods (e.g., quizzes, assignments, observations, and standardized tests). Provide feedback to students and parents/guardians about academic progress, strengths, and areas for improvement. Use assessment data to adjust lesson plans and instructional methods to meet the needs of all students. Identify students in need of additional academic support and collaborate with special education sta ff, MLL staff, intervention specialists, and paraprofessionals as needed. Provide individual support to students who need extra help with academic content, as well as emotional or social support. Encourage the development of students' social skills, emotional intelligence, and positive character traits. Promote student autonomy and responsibility by fostering a sense of ownership over learning. Help students develop organizational skills and effective study habits. Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and administrators to design and implement interdisciplinary lessons and improve school programs. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and behavior. Participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and meetings to discuss student progress and school initiatives. Work collaborati vely to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, and attend IEP meetings as applicable. Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient classro om environment. Keep accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior. Prepare instructional materials, supplies, and classroom resources. Ensure that students are well-prepared for lessons and activities by organizing assignments and schedules effectively. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends, research, and best practices. Engage in self-reflection and seek feedback to continuously improve teaching practices. Attend PLC's, faculty meetings, workshops, other educational training sessions, and school-related events to continuously improve teaching practices and stay current with educational trends. Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as recess, lunch, and school assemblies. Participate in school-wide activities, including special events, field trips, and school celebrations. Support after school programs, extracurricular activities and initiatives, such as clubs or community service projects, as needed. This is a 10-month position based on a 188-day annual contract. Employees are expected to work 7.5 hours per day, consistent with the established school and district schedules. Responsibilities may include duties beyond instructional time, such as meetings, professional development, and school-related events. Employees are expected to maintain regular attendance, fulfill all assigned responsibilities, and demonstrate flexibility to meet the evolving needs of students, staff, and the district.ADA ACCOMMODATIONS DISCLOSURE
