As a Head Start Teacher, you'll guide a classroom of 3-5-year-old children, creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. What You'll Do As a Head Start Teacher, you will: + Lead a joyful, inclusive classroom that promotes school readiness, literacy, language, and social-emotional development. + Implement a child-centered curriculum that reflects the needs, interests, and cultural backgrounds of the children you serve. + Foster family partnerships by conducting home visits, hosting parent-teacher conferences, and involving families in their child's learning journey. + Support diverse learners, including children with disabilities, by integrating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) into daily instruction. + Document and assess progress using observations, anecdotal notes, and digital tools like CreativeCurriculum.net to individualize instruction. + Ensure child safety and well-being, from conducting daily health checks to modeling positive behaviors during meals and play. Who You Are We're looking for someone who is: + Deeply committed to early childhood education and equity. + Collaborative and flexible, able to work closely with assistant teachers, families, and site leadership. + Reflective and growth-minded, using data to adapt instruction and improve outcomes for all children. + Bilingual (Spanish-English) is a plus! Minimum Qualifications + Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent coursework. + Pass a physical exam and background check. + Valid driver's license or reliable transportation required. + Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and actively engage with children throughout the day.
