Assistant Teacher Job DescriptionPosition Title Assistant Teacher Reports To Lead Teacher / Director / Assistant Director Position Summary The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. The Assistant Teacher assists with daily classroom activities, supervision, classroom management, and overall care of the children while helping maintain compliance with center policies and licensing standards. Duties & Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson plans Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment Support children's emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development Assist with meals, diapering, potty training, and nap supervision as needed Help prepare classroom materials and learning activities Interact positively and professionally with children, parents, and staff Maintain accurate attendance and daily reports as directed Follow all center policies, procedures, and state licensing regulations Participate in staff meetings and training opportunities Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and center information Assist with classroom transitions, playground supervision, and group activities Respond appropriately to emergencies and behavioral situations Qualifications Must pass Level 2 Background Screening CPR and First Aid Certification preferred or willing to obtain DCF 45 Hours preferred but not mandatory Skills & Abilities Ability to work well with children and staff Strong communication and teamwork skills Patience, reliability, and professionalism Ability to follow directions and assist in classroom management Ability to lift, bend, sit on the floor, and actively engage with children throughout the day Work Schedule Full-time and part-time positions available. Hours may vary based on classroom needs and center operations.

From $15.00 per hour
