Job Responsibilities Plan and implement engaging daily curriculum activities that spark wonder and support each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Create a warm, nurturing classroom environment that blends play-based exploration with early STEAM experiences, creativity, and wellness. Observe and document each child's progress and share meaningful updates with families through written reports, portfolios, and regular communication. Build strong partnerships with families through warm, consistent communication including newsletters, emails, online tools, and personal connections. Maintain availability for parent conferences and conversations to celebrate growth and partner on each child's journey. Collaborate positively with fellow teachers, staff, and the administrative team to support a vibrant school community. Attend staff meetings and participate in school events and activities. Provide clear plans for substitute teachers during planned absences. Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary classroom environment that protects the health and well-being of all children. Uphold our school's philosophy of joyful, discovery-based learning while supporting early childhood best practices. Document your own professional growth through ongoing reflection and development. Skills & Qualifications Passion for working with young children and a genuine commitment to their joy, growth, and well-being. Experience (or strong interest) in play-based, child-centered approaches such as Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or similar philosophies. Warm, patient, and positive classroom presence with excellent communication skills. Ability to build trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning, documentation, and assessment. Enthusiasm for incorporating early STEAM, creative arts, movement, and hands-on discovery into daily learning. Requirements 3+ years Previous experience in a preschool, private, or licensed early childhood setting is preferred. Satisfactory Level 2 background check clearance as required by Florida law.
