  • Mary Esther, FL Position Summary Little Angels Preschool is seeking a caring, dependable, and flexible Floater/Substitute Teacher to support classrooms throughout our preschool.
This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 1-5 years old. The Floater/Substitute Teacher assists lead teachers, provides classroom coverage when staff are absent, and helps ensure the daily operation of the preschool runs smoothly. Schedule Monday-Friday Approximately 25-30 hours per week during the school year Typical work hours: 10:00 AM-3:15 PM August-May school year (follows the Okaloosa County School District calendar) Responsibilities Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and routines. Float between classrooms to provide support where needed. Serve as the lead teacher or classroom substitute when a teacher is absent. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play. Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment. Assist with snack, lunch, diapering, and restroom routines. Follow all preschool policies and state licensing regulations. Communicate professionally with staff and families. Participate in staff meetings and training as required. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with young children preferred. Ability to pass Level 2 Background Screening. Must complete required DCF training within designated timeframes. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day. Desired Qualities Positive and patient attitude. Dependable and punctual. Flexible and willing to work with different age groups. Comfortable stepping into different classrooms and routines. Team-oriented and supportive of fellow staff.
