Job Description

Planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities: Childcare teachers develop lesson plans and activities that support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Creating a positive learning environment:
Childcare teachers set the tone for the classroom by fostering a positive and welcoming atmosphere where children feel comfortable and confident. Ensuring children's safety: Childcare teachers are responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in their care, by adhering to safety regulations and monitoring the classroom environment.
Communicating with parents and caregivers:
Childcare teachers keep parents informed about their child's progress and activities through regular communication, such as progress reports, parent-teacher conferences, and newsletters.
Managing classroom behavior:
Childcare teachers establish and maintain clear expectations and guidelines for behavior in the classroom, and help children develop appropriate social skills.
Collaborating with colleagues:
Childcare teachers work collaboratively with other educators, administrators, and support staff to ensure that the needs of all children are met and to support the overall goals of the program.
Maintaining records:
Childcare teachers keep accurate records of children's attendance, progress, and behavior, and use this information to inform their teaching and planning.
Continuing education and professional development:
Childcare teachers participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education and to improve their teaching skills.
